Haute News: Poshmark.com launches New App to satisfy your Fashion Fix

So....I just heard about a new App That Poshmark.com has launched available for download in the iTunes Market that will allow you to sell items from your closet to anyone from anywhere. Its like attending a shopping party but in the convenience of an app!

Born out of necessity to have a more convenient option than your traditional EBay auction, without having to physically go to a resale shop, Posh parties are real time events where the fashion addicted meet up to shop and sell clothing and accessories. In just a few clicks, fashionistas can use their phone to snap photos of the item and create listings to sell in real time.

This sounds like such a fun app and definitely a must have for every fashionista,  I can't wait to join the community which is made up of fashion lovers from here to everywhere. Those who are consistently looking for new and unique looks and wanting to share their style.

All they need now is to create an app for the Android market so I can participate :)

Blu Ivory Couture 3223 12 Mile Berkley MI 48072

The owner of Blu Ivory Couture contacted me to review her Boutique. I happily obliged, I mean, who can turn down an opportunity to go boutiquing! I met the owner LaToya in her new location in Berkley. Ready for a change of pace and a fresh start, she moved to her 12 mile location this year after a year in the Greenfield Plaza. During her sophomore year in business she is settling in to her style and establishing herself in the Detroit Fashion scene.

Her inventory is fabulous with everything from clothing and shoes to hot accessories all with a palatable price point. Take a look at Blu Ivory Couture has to offer! I personally had been looking for a pair of leather leggings to complete a look for a birthday party I attended Friday. I went all around looking for a pair and was able to find them at Blu Ivory!

Her plans for 2012 include the addition of a plus size clothing line which is an excellent business move. Look out curvy ladies Blu Ivory is going to be your next hot spot! Congratulations Blu Ivory, here's to another fabulous year in business!

Style Review: Eloquii by The Limited - Styles with the Curvy Fashionista in mind

So....a good friend asked me to review a new site featuring a plus size clothing line, Eloquii by The Limited This is one of the best plus sized lines I have seen yet. Because its The Limited it is a bit pricey but that is to be expected. But they do have some great sales! 

One of my favorite features of the site is the Shape My Style section. It is a tool designed to help you find styles most appropriate for your body style. No matter your shape Eloquii wants you to look your best and they will help take some of the guess work out of it for you!

The Red and Grey version of this dress caught my eye first, but when I checked the other color I loved them both I should also mention that this dress is currently on SALE! The Red and Gray for $49 and the Green and Black for $59 Absolutely Love this dress!

When I saw this dress I immediately fell in love. So....I ordered it lol. It was only $30 from ASOS! Can you believe it! So I can't wait until it gets here...and can't wait to post pics of me in it!

I actually found it on a site called designerapparel.com which lists all the sales in one place. Awesome site! I have noticed that some of the links point to items that are sold out or no longer in stock so just look out for that.

I love this dress because of the colors, and the style. The asymmetrical cut is one of my favorite styles to wear, I love sexy shoulders lol! The tiered ruffles contrasted with the fitted waistband and the pleats of the skirt make this little number a perfect 10 in my eyes. Now for the perfect shoes....Will post once I find them.  Until then...Enjoy!

Hot trend - Pink and Red Combos

So....one of the ladies at the office today, while reviewing some ads before they went live, commented on the color scheme and that she didn't like the colors pink and red next to each other because they clash.

Traditionally, that statement is true. But as I explained, Pink and Red are hardly a fashion faux pas but rather a Haute Combo!

Of course SJP on the right will always have her finger on the pulse of the latest trend and she will ALWAYS work it!. JoJo in the middle I feel wore it best of the three pictured here. Victoria's color block cut out dress (on the right) is just a little too much for my taste.

I think a red skinny or wide leg tailored pant and chic red blouse will be your best bet when taking on this fashion challenge. You can set the style off with a nice pair of nude pumps or for a bit of an edge I would pair JoJo's ensemble with your favorite pair of animal print heels.

The pink and red combo is done best with separates. My reasoning behind this is simply in anticipation of the next fashion trend which will render the pink and red combo obsolete. This way you will still have functional pieces that can carry you into the fashion future.

Head Over Heels Shoe Boutique 27224 Southfield Rd Lathrup Village, MI 48076

The owner of Head Over Heels Shoe Boutique located in Lathrup Village contacted me and asked me to cover her store. Excitedly I obliged, as I can never pass up an opportunity to set foot in a boutique!

The next day I made my way over to check out the spot. Meeting the owner of this chic boutique was such a treat! Breana Cage only 21, is really doing her thing! Three months ago, her passion for fashion lead her down the entrepreneurial path to open her own store stocking the latest in shoes, from fashion flats to haute couture heels with the mission of empowering women to feel good about themselves with the shoes on their feet! Head Over Heels Shoe Boutique promises the "Celebrity Experience" to every customer that graces their four walls.

When asked what compelled her to venture out on her own while being so young, she explained that she took a step out on faith guided by her belief in God. The support of her family and closest friends gave her the extra push.

Head Over Heels is a shoe boutique but Breana's vision for 2012 includes the addition of more clothing items to the inventory to become more of a full service destination offering the latest in shoes and clothing. I say go for it! Congratulations to you and all the very best to you for the future Brena! As for Head Over Heels Shoe Boutique, keep a pair on the Minnetonka Boots size 8.5 for me because I WILL be back ;-)

Real Detroit Fashion - Requests: Styles with the Curvy Fashionista in mind

So.....my friend asked me for tips on what to wear to work. She said, "My new internship is going to be starting soon. I need to know what to wear to work that won't look like an Easter Suit." Keep in mind that she is curvealicious...and also a student. The typical specialty shop stocking larger sizes can get to be very pricey if your aren't careful.

Peep Toe Shoe Boutique - 6692 Orchard Lake Rd, West Bloomfield MI 48322

So...as promised, I visited Peep Toe Shoe Boutique today!

After learning about the newest shoe boutique to grace the Detroit Fashion Scene, I knew I had to pay a visit. I had the opportunity to meet the owners and interview them! The sisters, India and Tajie Brown, are shoe deep with their own little slice of fashion heaven. With its chic styling and trendy facade, the stage is set for Peep Toe to position itself as THE destination for shoe lovers in the market they serve. I was able to peruse their inventory and I was very pleased with the style and quality offered in their selection. All of the looks were very stylish and on the edge of today's fashions.

India guided me on a mini tour of their offerings, mentioning that fresh inventory would soon adorn the boutique and as a request, fashion forward lower heeled shoes and stylish flats would be added to the repertoire. Plans for 2012 include shoe parties,  and the addition of leggings and other accessories to the menu. The Peep Toe pair are planning a holiday party as a fabulous end to their exciting 2011. Awesome work ladies and I am excited to see what the future holds for you!

As for me, I see a fabulous pair of fringed wedge boots in my not too distant future :-)

When is the last time you went through your mom's closet looking for fashion forward vintage pieces? 

When I asked this Look of the Day Lady to tell me about her diggs, I was so surprised, and in love all at the same time, when she told me this totally trendy top actually came from her mom's closet. The perfect testament to fashion come full circle! Vintage style turned into today's trend. She offset the classic chic jersey top to one shoulder accessorized with a tight waist belt, paired with patterned leggings and some of the hottest wedges around!

Peep Toe Shoe Boutique - West Bloomfield

So...I think I have died and gone to shoe heaven! I just heard about a new shoe boutique Peep Toe debuting on the Detroit Fashion scene! I am so excited for the new business and wish these two ladies the best! I will be dropping by tomorrow to check out the selection and meet the two sisters India and Tajie Brown who own this little piece of heaven. As a self proclaimed boutiquer (yeah I made that up lol), and shoe connoisseur, I have a special place in my heart for this shoelicious spot already.
